UNIVERSITEITSRAAD VERKIEZINGEN JUNI 2022
LIJST WEPPELMAN
Dear UT-colleague, I want to convince you why I am YOUR candidate for the University Council! My name is Jacqueline Weppelman and for over 35 years I work at the university in various positions. During all these years, I experienced the university from different faculties (both technical and non-technical), service departments and from different viewpoints. I have experience with the university’s operations and finance and control from roles where I was responsible for support of education and research. Since many topics that are discussed in the University Council relate to finance and operations (for instance discussions around the very complex financial UT model) it is important that in the University Council a deep understanding of financial and organizational topics is present. Fundamental changes take time and need a broad support from the service departments and faculties. Shaping a People First university can only be done together. After a previous membership of the University Council in the past and a current membership since December 2020 I want to be your councilmember once more. With my experience and knowledge relating to operations and finance of the university, I can contribute to your well-being by being a critical and constructive member of the University Council. My ambition is to preserve what is good and help improve what can be done (or should be done) better. And as such shape a better UT for both students and staff. As your council member, I see it as my duty to align ambitions from the board with what is possible from the employees’ side. By vocalizing sanity checks, underlining the importance of transparent decision-making and continuously drawing attention to effects of decisions to YOUR work, I aim to be there for YOU. Thank you for reading my candidacy and (hopefully) for your vote! Jacqueline Weppelman (BMS)
