Anne Dijkstra is universitair hoofddocent wetenschapscommunicatie aan de Universiteit Twente. Ze bestudeert de veranderende relatie tussen wetenschap en samenleving vanuit een communicatie-invalshoek. Ze leidt onderzoek over dit onderwerp, bijvoorbeeld in (internationale) projecten. Zie ook het Onderzoekscentrum voor wetenschapscommunicatie en engagement. Tot 1 december 2025 is ze een voor een gastbezoek aan Waseda Universiteit in Japan met een beurs van de JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science). Voor haar academische werk werkte ze als project manager en senior communicatie-adviseur. Als vrijwilliger organiseert ze bijeenkomsten voor het Science Café Deventer. Ook organiseert ze andere activiteiten over wetenschap en kunst, als het succesvolle festival ‘KOP-festival’ en het nieuwere Science Café Noir.

Organisaties

Anne onderzoekt de relatie tussen wetenschap en samenleving vanuit een communicatie-perspectief. Kernbegrippen in het onderzoek zijn: wetenschapscommunicatie, journalistiek, publieke participatie, governance, co-creatie, citizen science en risico communicatie. Onderzoeksprofielen

Anne Dijkstra coördineert het Research Honours programma. Dit is een succesvol extracurriculair programma voor masterstudenten die onderzoeker willen worden. Ze begeleidt studenten bij hun afstuderen. Anne geeft cursussen over wetenschapscommunicatie aan promovendi, wetenschappelijke staf die te volgen zijn via de Twente Graduate School.
