ir. A. Maiti MSc (Abhisek)

Abhisek Maiti voltooide zijn master in aardobservatie en trad toe als promovendus bij de faculteit Geo-informatiekunde en aardobservatie, Universiteit Twente. Abhisek heeft ook nog een MSc-graad in computerwetenschappen behaald aan St. Xavier's College Kolkata, India.

Zijn onderzoeksinteresses liggen op het gebied van actieve teledetectie, variërend van algoritme-ontwikkeling en implementatie voor LiDAR-puntwolkverwerking tot SAR-gegevenskalibratie, -verwerking en informatie-extractie. Hij experimenteert vaak met verschillende technieken voor machinaal leren, gericht op de aardobservatie gerelateerde toepassingen. Hij is ook erg geïnteresseerd in het uitbreiden en gebruiken van algoritmen voor het modelleren van de maan- en planetaire omgeving. Hij neemt actief deel aan onderzoeksactiviteiten en samenwerkingsprojecten.

In zijn vrije tijd draagt hij graag bij aan de open source community of speelt hij met elektronica. Hij brengt zijn vakanties ook graag door met wandelen in de bergen.
