Eduardo Lalla-Ruiz is associate professor in Logistiek en Operations Research aan de afdeling High Tech Business and Entrepreneurship (HBE) van de Universiteit Twente (Enschede, Nederland). Hij is tevens onderwijsdirecteur van de bachelor- en masterprogramma’s Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) aan de Universiteit Twente. Eduardo heeft een bachelor in industriĆ«le techniek, een master in industriĆ«le automatiseringstechniek en een master of advanced studies in computerwetenschappen en kunstmatige intelligentie behaald aan de Universiteit van La Laguna (Spanje). Aan diezelfde instelling heeft Eduardo zijn promotie afgerond en werd hij bekroond met een buitengewone doctorale onderscheiding. Na het behalen van zijn doctoraat werd Eduardo aangenomen als onderzoeker en docent aan het Instituut voor Informatiesystemen (Universiteit Hamburg). Daar werd hij een fellow van de prestigieuze Alexander von Humboldt-stichting. Eduardo heeft diverse onderzoeksartikelen gepubliceerd in wetenschappelijke tijdschriften, samengewerkt in internationale onderzoeksprojecten, gediend als redacteur en referent voor relevante tijdschriften, en deelgenomen aan de organisatie van sessies en conferenties. Zijn onderzoeksinteresses liggen op het gebied van logistiek, operations research, wiskundige programmering, beslissingsondersteunende systemen en kunstmatige intelligentie.
