De focus van mijn onderzoek is narratieve psychologie en technologie. Ik bestudeer hoe persoonlijke verhalen bijdragen aan de levensloopontwikkeling van identiteit, geestelijke gezondheid en welbevinden. Theorieën uit de positieve psychologie en gerontologie dragen bij aan een beter inzicht in de rol van verhalen. Technologie ondersteunt mensen in het maken en delen van verhalen over hun leven, zoals in digitale levensboeken of in online therapie. Technologie ondersteunt onderzoekers bij de analyse hoe verhalen in het alledaagse leven worden uitgedrukt, bijvoorbeeld in de expressie van emoties of in conversaties tussen therapeuten en clienten.
