Moderne natuurkunde fascineert me, en studenten zien groeien maakt me gelukkig. Ik ben altijd geïnteresseerd geweest in het leren hoe je de nieuwsgierigheid van alle leerlingen kunt prikkelen en hen kunt ondersteunen op hun ontdekkingsreis in de natuurkunde.

Mijn eigen carrière begon als onderzoeker in laserfysica in Duitsland; later deelde ik als natuurkundeleraar mijn passie voor natuurkunde met middelbare scholieren in Nederland. Sinds een paar jaar ben ik weer betrokken bij onderzoek - deze keer onderzoek naar natuurkundeonderwijs. Mijn onderzoeksinteresses zijn leerlingenpractica, Nature of Science, quantumfysica op de middelbare school, en natuurkunde aantrekkelijk maken voor al onze leerlingen. De titel van mijn proefschrift is 'Connecting Secondary School Quantum Physics and Nature of Science'. Ik houd bovendien van de uitdaging om studenten te helpen bij hun ontwikkeling tot natuurkundeleraar.
