Jan Broenink has a PhD EE and MSc EE & biomedical degrees both from the University of Twente. Jan’s research interests are Cyber-Physical Systems, Systems Engineering, Robot Software Archirectures & Tools Development for this, Simulation, Co-Simulation, Parallel Software based on CSP. For that, he is interested in: model-driven design and meta-modeling of robot software architectures; designing software tools including (co)-simulation; concurrent and systems engineering. He has been chairman of the Robotics and Mechatronics group, together with Stefano Stramigioli.

Jan’s teaching work is on Robot Software Design using Model-Driven approaches, Systems Engineering, and using the latter in methods for conducting and supervising MSc / BSc final projects.

Since July 2021 he is programme director of the MSc programme Robotics. Since December 2022 he is also programme director Systems and Control.
