Sinds september 2022 werk ik als PhD-kandidaat aan de Universiteit Twente. Voor mijn PhD project onderzoek ik de impact van een strafproces op langdurige rouw, posttraumatische stress en depressieniveaus van mensen die nabestaanden zijn van een vliegtuigramp (vlucht MH17).

In deze context zal ik onderzoeken of kenmerken van een strafproces moeten worden beschouwd als risicofactoren voor het ontwikkelen van psychopathologie. Daarnaast zal ik nagaan of de ervaringen van MH17 nabestaanden met het strafrechtelijk systeem vergelijkbaar zijn met de ervaringen van nabestaanden van moord of doodslag en dodelijke verkeersongelukken.
