Dr. Ruud Jacobs is een universitair docent in communicatie en technologie op de afdeling communicatiewetenschappen. Ruud's onderzoek is mediapsychologisch en richt zich voornamelijk op de verhouding tussen mens en media. Hij verdedigde in 2017 zijn proefschrift over de overtuigende effecten van games. Hij is geïnteresseerd in de 'serieuze' effecten en motivaties van gebruik van media die normaliter als entertainment worden gezien, zoals games en recensies.
