Over mij
Mijn werk richt zich op de bijdrage van stedelijke planning aan het verminderen van rampenrisico's. Mijn opleidingsachtergrond combineert kennis van stadsplanning (BSc, UniSA, Australië), stadsonderzoek en het analyse van menselijke nederzettingen (MSc, ITC, Nederland) en geografische wetenschappen (PhD Universiteit Utrecht, Nederland). Een groot deel van mijn carrière is gewijd aan onderzoek, onderwijs en capaciteitsopbouw op het gebied van stadsplanning in onwikkelingslanden, met een specifieke focus op het in kaart brengen en modelleren van informele stedelijke ontwikkeling om de levenskwaliteit van hun bewoners te verbeteren. Sinds 2010 is de focus verbreed naar het werk aan stadsplanning voor het verminderen van rampenrisico's.
